Environment Health & Safety Committee

The Environment, Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) is an expert working group concerned with promoting a balanced understanding of hazards and risks associated with chemicals. EHSC's strategic objectives are to:

1. Influence public policy and legislation on health, safety and the environment to ensure that they are based on sound science and in the public interest by contributing to sustainable development.
   
2. Provide essential health, safety and environmental guidance for RSC members to help them fulfill their responsibilities as professional chemists.
   
3. Help to improve the public image of chemistry and chemists by improving public understanding of the risks associated with the benefits of chemicals.
   
4. Promote Sustainable Development through the above 3 objectives.
