ISI® citation data released in June 2008 shows that Impact Factors for RSC journals are continuing to rise. Among the headline success stories is Molecular BioSystems with a 68% rise in impact factor to 4.121 and PCCP at 3.343, a rise of 61% over three years.
Increased frequency
Owing to the significant increase in accepted articles, a number of publications are increasing in frequency in 2009:
- Soft Matter doubles to 24 issue in only its 5th year of publication
- Natural Product Reports, #1 for immediacy in the field of organic chemistry, moves to monthly publication
- Lab on a Chip strengthens its position as a leading journal in the field and increases to 24 issues
In addition, Faraday Discussions adds a fourth volume as a result of the extension of this popular series of prestigious meetings.
New journals
Three new journals have been announced, each with extended periods of free online access available, to enable you to determine their relevance to your organisation.
- Energy & Environmental Science
- Integrative Biology: Quantitative biosciences from nano to macro, launching in January 2009
- Also new for January 2009: Metallomics: Integrated biometal science
All online content of the three new journals will be available free during 2009. Access, which is managed by institution and IP address, will be provided following a simple registration process. In addition, the current issue of the journal will be freely available to everyone online, without the need for any registration. (Registration for Integrative Biology and Metallomics is now available.)
NB 2009 subscribers to Packages A+ or A with IP addresses registered will automatically receive access to all three journals, and do not need to register.
