4.12 is new Impact Factor for Molecular BioSystems

20 June 2008

Great news this week has come from the latest ISI citation data which shows a greatly increased impact factor for Molecular BioSystems of 4.12!

"That is very impressive"
- Tom Kodadek, Chair of Editorial Board
The Molecular BioSystems Team has been celebrating this news which represents an impressive 68% increase on last year's figure. Members of the Editorial and Advisory Boards of the journal have been expressing their delight at the news which was described as 'very impressive' by Professor Tom Kodadek, Editorial Board Chair. Together with the very promising trend in submissions and the enormously successful 'Emerging Investigators' special issue it all adds up to a very exciting time ahead for the journal.

The impact factor is a measure of the number of times an "average article" in a journal has been cited in a particular year. The impact factor for 2007 is calculated from the total number of citations given in 2007 to articles published in 2005 and 2006, divided by the number of articles published in 2005 and 2006.

A big thank-you to all our authors, referees and readers for their continued support from the Molecular BioSystems Team!
