Included is a recent hot article by Charl Faul discussing modifying noncovalent interactions to change the binding properties of two-armed diketopiperazine receptors and induce the formation of liquid crystals. This article featured in the recent theme issue in Journal of Materials Chemistry on 'Liquid Crystals beyond Display Applications'.
