Celia grew up in Ilford, Essex and studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, specialising in chemistry. After graduating in 2000 she stayed on in Cambridge to study for a PhD in organic chemistry with Stuart Warren. After completing her studies, she joined the ChemComm production team as a Technical Editor at the start of November 2004 and in February 2006 became editor of Chemical Biology. In her spare time Celia enjoys cooking and painting and will often be found buried in a good book.
