RSC Prospect count reaches 1000
17 October 2007
Following hot on the heels of the announcement that RSC Project Prospect as the winner of the 2007 ALPSP/Charlesworth Award for Publishing Innovation, comes a milestone for the number of articles featuring RSC Prospect enhanced HTML.
One thousand articles from across the RSC journals portfolio have now been published with the innovative technology. They feature links from ontology terms to definitions and related articles, links to compound information and downloadable compound structures and links to terms in the IUPAC Gold Book. These enhancements are unique to journals from RSC Publishing, and were described as 'delightfully simple to use . benefits to authors and readers are immediately obvious' by the award judges.
Michael Smith, commissioning editor for Molecular BioSystems, is delighted with the way HTML articles in the journal are enhanced: 'RSC Prospect adds a new dimension to these articles, allowing readers to find related articles, download structures plus explore unfamiliar topics by using definitions - making it invaluable for students and more accessible to researchers from other disciplines.'
The scope and coverage of the RSC Prospect enhancements will be expanded in the months and years to come; let us know what links you'd like to see within RSC journal articles.
