Younger Members Network

The Younger Members Network provides opportunities for members in the early stages of their career to get involved in a variety of activities and events and to meet other young members in their area. By doing this the network aims to further both the professional and personal development of Younger Members.

For young members working in industry, teaching or undertaking postgraduate study the Younger Members Network offers the chance to establish useful contacts and participate in a range of local events.

The Younger Members Network works closely alongside Student Chemical Societies (ChemSocs), Local Sections and often with RSC Representatives, organising activities and events of interest to Younger Members.

Every Local Section would like to have a Younger Members Representative on the committee to act as a point of contact between the Local Section and younger members in that area and the RSC.  There are Younger Members Networks currently operating in 26 Local Sections. Ideally, we would like to have a network with 2 Younger Members with one representing Academia and the other representing Industry.

To find out who is the Younger Members Representative in your Local Section please select Younger Members Representatives from the left navigation bar.

There are vacancies for Younger Members Representatives in the following Local Sections:

  • Aberdeen and North Scotland
  • East Anglia
  • Kent
  • Lancaster and District
  • Mid-Wales
  • North Humberside
  • North Staffordshire
  • Peninsula
  • Southumbria
  • Soutth West Wales
