The RSC signed the International Agreement with the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) on the 1 February 2007. 

The ceremony took place amongst two one-day events organised by both societies.

These included a 1 day UK-India Workshop on Smart Materials (31 January) and the 1st UK-Indo Symposium on the Chemical Sciences (1 February).

Chemical Research Society of India

The CRSI was established in 1999 as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Countries Independence.

It was established to recognise, promote and foster talent in chemistry and the chemical sciences in India, and to improve the quality of chemical education at all levels. 

It also recognises and honours achievements in chemical research through awards and grants, as well as organising conferences, workshops and other events to facilitate research.
