Occupational and Environmental Toxicology Group
The RSC Occupational and Environmental Toxicology Group (OETG) exists to represent and inform members in the RSC of matters pertaining to the risks from chemicals in the work place and in the environment. This is distinct from the issue of environmental contamination as the group seeks to address the toxicological implications and risk management of chemicals.
Since the Group members have an immense amount of experience the RSC OETG has an important input into the Environmental Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) of the RSC, which is the main policy unit on health, safety and environmental issues. Thus the RSC OETG has a significant voice in the RSC and its public advice service.
The recent major restructuring of the RSC activities in the health, safety, environmental, energy, and related areas to form a new body entitled the 'Environment, Sustainability and Energy Forum' (ESEF) is very pertinent to the areas of expertise of the RSC OETG and will ensure its important role in RSC business.
The RSC OETG maintains formal links with the British Toxicological Society and the Royal College of Pathologists. Members of the group and Committee come from academic, public and commercial enterprises. Every effort is made to encompass all shades of experience. Occasional scientific meetings are arranged on topics considered to be of interest to the members and others in associated fields.
Environment, Sustainability and Energy Forum
ESEF is open to all members of the RSC as a society wide grouping to represent environmental and related activities.
