Chemical Enquiry of the month - September 2007
The enquiry this month
- Our company specialises in antibacterial surface coatings, we would like to take our product development forward in the direction of nanotechnology and need background information on this.
A nanometre is a billionth of a metre in length and the technology which takes place within 1,000 nanometres is nanotechnology. Put simply, the main purpose is to manipulate individual atoms and molecules to create tools thousands of times smaller than existing technologies allow, making product assembly, detection etc possible with a greater degree of strength and precision.
FREE of charge to members, the RSC Virtual Library is an excellent place to start your background research with premium e-book resources to take you from the basics to properties, applications, commerce, the environment, health and safety. The full text e-journals and journals databases will help you keep up with the most up to date journal articles in this area.
