How to gain access

1. E-mail the Library requesting access to ScienceDirect and stating your membership number.
2. Receive an acknowledgement e-mail from the Library.
3. Receive an e-mail from ScienceDirect containing your registration ID, password and registration instructions.
4. Visit the ScienceDirect registration page and enter your registration details to create a new user profile.
5. Use your username and password from the new profile to begin using ScienceDirect.  

Elsevier ScienceDirect Prepaid Tokens

As well as full text access to Elsevier journals, the RSC Library and Information Centre has purchased prepaid tokens too.

This means that we can provide members with the full text of most content from other Elsevier journals as well.

To take advantage of this scheme:

Step 1 - Find the article you want

Visit the ScienceDirect website and identify the article that you are interested in. Note the bibliographic details of the article, i.e., the title, year, volume, issue, and page numbers of the journal.  

Step 2 - Complete and send the form 

Complete the LIC Elsevier Wiley Article Request form with the bibliographic details as well as your name and membership number and click the 'submit' button.

On receiving your request, we will download the full text article and email it to you as a PDF.

(The LIC reserves the right to limit the number of articles provided to an individual member).
