As one of the foremost chemical societies in the world, the RSC has an extensive archive of historical chemistry information.  The collection is made up from the previous collections of the societies which came together by royal charter to form the RSC in 1980:

• The Chemical Society (founded 1841)
• The Royal Institute of Chemistry (founded 1877)
• The Faraday Society (founded 1903)
• The Society for Analytical Chemistry (founded 1874)

The RSC Journal Archive provides access to around 195,000 fully searchable articles in 1,200,000 pages. Members pay £5 per article.
