What kind of presentations are there?

army
The RSC Chemistry at Work programme has been running for over ten years and there are now some 30 events each year across the UK ranging from Aberdeen to Plymouth and Belfast to Cambridge.

Events are run for a range of age groups from primary to post-16. The aim is to give students an insight into how the chemical sciences fit into everyday life and the world of work, and to present a positive image of chemistry as an exciting, interesting and wealth-creating activity that is worth considering as a career.

Many organisations give presentations at Chemistry at Work events. These range from multinational companies carrying out cutting-edge research, in pharmaceuticals, for example, to small businesses such as a local dry cleaner. For some, chemistry is their core business, while for others, such as the army, it is very much a means to an end.

The summaries below aim to give a flavour of the range of presentations seen at Chemistry at Work events and to show the variety of organisations represented.
