HE Careers Advisers' Conference
On the 11th July 2005 we held our first conference for HE careers advisers. Representatives from 30 institutions attended the event. Presentations were given by speakers from a wide range of sectors where chemical scientists are employed. There was also a discussion about PhDs in chemistry and destinations of postgraduates.
The second HE careers advisers conference was held on 11th July 2007. Once again the event was attended by representatives from HE institutions across the UK. Presentations focussed on women in chemistry, case studies highlighting the needs of different students and the use of Personal Development Planning.
Both conferences were very well received:
"Having a range of industry people as well as RSC staff altogether for one conference is invaluable. The speakers were very well briefed and relevant."
"Very good programme on an introduction to careers for chemists."
Powerpoint presentations from both events can be downloaded from this page.
